The Story of a Homeland Told to Children… with Storyteller Abdullah Al-Turk
Family Pledge continues its educational and awareness-raising efforts, having launched during October/November 2024 the series “The Story of Palestine with the Storyteller,” an educational initiative targeting children and aiming to introduce them to the history of Palestine and the stories of its heroes through an interactive narrative approach that combines enjoyment with knowledge, while fostering national and faith-based values from an early age.
Presented by storyteller Abdullah Al-Turk, the series employs engaging narration, educational activities, and motivational songs to encourage children’s participation and interaction, transforming historical narratives into a lively and accessible experience.
The episodes highlight stories of bravery, steadfastness, and sacrifice embodied by prominent Palestinian figures across different eras. Through these narratives, children gain insights into courage, loyalty to their homeland, and commitment to principles in a manner suited to their age and imagination.
Notable episodes include “The Paralyzed Sheikh,” which explores the life of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and demonstrates how faith and determination can overcome physical limitations, and “The Heroic Imam,” which sheds light on Izz al-Din al-Qassam and the values of dignity, perseverance, and rightful struggle.
The series also presents historical and contemporary figures such as “The Trustworthy Sultan,” focusing on Sultan Abdul Hamid II and his steadfast leadership, “The Loyal Leader,” recounting the sacrifice of Abd al-Qadir al-Husseini, and “The Ingenious Engineer,” telling the story of Yahya Ayash and emphasizing the role of knowledge and creativity in resistance.
Additional episodes include “The Legendary Young Fighter,” about Emad Aqel, “The Prisoner Strategist,” narrating Abdullah Barghouti’s resilience in captivity, and finally “The Resilient City,” which introduces children to Gaza’s steadfastness and promotes values of patience, unity, and love for the homeland.
This series reflects the Family Charter Project’s commitment to connecting Palestinian history with national identity and human values, offering children an engaging educational experience that strengthens awareness and nurtures a deep sense of belonging from an early age
