The Family Pledge team in Kenya organized an awareness event titled “The Walk for Humanity,” a one-day initiative aimed at shedding light on global injustice and oppression—particularly in Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo—through a physical and emotional experience designed to deepen participants’ reflection and awareness of these humanitarian issues.

The “Walk for Humanity” outlined clear objectives centered on raising awareness of global suffering and injustice, simulating aspects of the daily hardship endured by oppressed communities to deepen empathy, and encouraging participants to engage in self-reflection and take practical steps in support of just causes. The event also invited attendees to reconnect with nature and step away from the noise of the city. It concluded with an introduction to the Family Pledge project, presented as a framework that strengthens long-term engagement in humanitarian work.

Around 75 participants joined the event, representing diverse age groups and backgrounds, including families and individuals from both Muslim and non-Muslim communities, with ages ranging from 7 to over 50. Participants expressed deep gratitude and empathy throughout the walk, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the vulnerable.

This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote humanitarian awareness, strengthen community engagement, and motivate individuals to take tangible actions in support of Palestine
