Food Parcels Project Report – One of the Emergency Response Projects in Gaza
Amid the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of families are struggling to secure their daily food needs due to ongoing blockade and destruction of livelihoods, the Food Parcel Distribution Project was launched to provide essential support to vulnerable families and help them survive with dignity.
This project focuses on supporting families directly by providing comprehensive food parcels that include essential food items necessary to cover the basic needs of each family. The project is implemented through six distribution rounds annually, with one delivery every two months, ensuring continuous food support for families throughout the year.
The project targets 2,000 vulnerable families across Gaza, prioritizing households that have lost their breadwinner, those severely affected by conflict, and families headed by women. The project includes food parcels distributed at the family level to ensure that food safely reaches those in genuine need. Each parcel includes essential food items such as flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, legumes, dates, and healthy canned goods. The cost of one food parcel is $100 USD, bringing the total project cost to $200,000 USD, which includes preparation, packaging, transportation, and distribution.
This project is not only an emergency response to hunger, but also an effort to protect family stability and prevent the deterioration of living conditions amid extreme poverty. It reflects the values of human solidarity and provides a lifeline for families striving to survive despite humanitarian adversity
